The great check-chain debate

I’ve been told that choke chains are cruel. Is this true and will their use hurt my dog?
You will notice if you’ve watched my DVD that my training revolves around the use of a chain . I purposely call it a check chain and NOT a choke chain. Of course it is not for choking the dog, in fact if the dog is being choked then it is not being used correctly and will be useless as a training aid .
Anyone who says that the check chain is cruel, either doesn’t know how to use one ( in which case they should buy the DVD Training for Life) or has never trained a dog to any standard , It might surprise you to learn how many so called "Dog phsycologists" have never owned (let alone trained) a dog . And they seem to be the most vocal against the use of "choke" chains
Could this be because used correctly it is simple, staightforward and most importantly it works ! . Which might not be in their interests financialy???.........
So to answer the question, used correctly they are not cruel. In my opinion an untrained dog choking itself by constantly pulling on the end of a rope leash is real cruelty!
